Non Member Taster/Welcome Sessions
Thank you for showing interest in having a Taster/Welcome session with Pendle Paddlers.
We currently have the following Dates and ticket availability (please note we try and keep availability as up to date as possible, but this is not an automated process so there may be time lag in updates.)

If you accept these, you will be taken to complete a Temporary membership form, this ensures we have any relevant medical information and emergency contact details just in case of incident, and a requirement of being affiliated to British Canoeing.
After that you will be able to book and pay for a session, please note sessions cost £8 per head in line with our Fees.
Covid-19 Secure Paddling Procedures at Foulridge
In order to enable club activity to resume at Foulridge the Committee has reviewed both Government and British Canoeing guidance on returning to paddling and carried out a covid-19 risk assessment. This means we must make some changes to the way we run club nights to be covid secure, which are outlined in or action plan below. Please read and follow these arrangements in order for everybody to stay safe.

To manage numbers participating in sessions pre-booking and payment is essential, for all attendees as this is part of our Track and Trace protocol.
If you are booking multiple tickets, the lead party acknowledges that they are taking full responsibility to compile with Track and trace requirements.
We will not be signing in and collecting cash on the day.
Before attending you must self-assess for Covid-19 symptoms – a high temperature, a new, continuous cough, a loss of, or change to, your sense of smell or taste. You must NOT attend any paddling trip if you have any symptoms. You must NOT join in with any paddling session if any member of your household has any of these symptoms. Please note you may be asked to confirm this.
Please let the coach know if there is any health issues, he / she should know about and if you are in the considered in an at risk group for COVID infection – obviously if preferred this can be done discreetly / privately.
Please arrive at the designated time and leave quickly at end of session to avoid groups of people collecting in the car park.
Social distancing and the “2m rule” applies before and after paddling sessions.
Changing facilities are closed for changing so please come dressed and ready for the water.
If you have any of your own equipment, please feel free to bring it along, but we reserved the right to check suitability and may request that you use Club equipment, if it is deemed not suitable
Access to the hut will be one person at a time by a one way system, to collect a buoyancy aid / spraydeck and outer clothing.
Access to the containers will be one person at a time to collect a kayak or canoe and paddle. Where a 2 person lift is required try to do this within a family bubble. If this is not possible please where possible keep 2 metres apart.
If you require a different piece of equipment ie paddle or boat, please use the cleaning materials provided in the containers.
We have no washing / toilet facilities on site. Hand hygiene measures continue to be very important and hand sanitiser will be provided for use before and after each session.
The Canal and Rivers Trust toilet key is available for ‘emergencies’, subject to their protocols.
Signage will be in place to remind paddlers of our covid-19 precautions.
On the water
Launch and egress the water independently where possible without gathering on the towpath maintaining social distancing. It is essential that you ensure a coach or leader is on the water prior to your entry.
Maintain social distancing whilst paddling.
Do not share / swap equipment with other paddlers.
Open canoes should only be paddled tandem with members of a family bubble.
Avoid close proximity activities including rescue practice, rafting up and close contact games. Avoid activities which increase the risk of a swim & the need for a rescue.
If a rescue is needed, paddlers should attempt to do a self-rescue otherwise the swimmer should head for the banking. Socially distant assisted rescues are not possible.
When putting your equipment away repeat the arrangements for maintaining social distance when obtaining equipment from the containers and the hut.
We aim to avoid using equipment again within at least 72 hours of a session. Where this is not possible you will be notified of the need to clean down club equipment at the end of every session/ use.
Records of attendance
The club will have a record of all participants on each session if track and trace needs to occur.
A QR code will be visible for use.
If you need to cancel your ticket please email email@example.com, tickets will be refunded if cancelled 24 hours before the event, cancellation less that 24 hours will be at the discretion of the commitee.
In the case of Pendle Paddlers cancelling the event a refund will be issued
