Pendle Paddlers

Frequently Asked Questions

What about Stand up Paddle boarding (SUP)?

Currently we don't support SUP we dont believe that the environments we currently have regular access to are appropriate to learn this aspect of Paddlesports

Other local clubs that support SUPS are

Clitheroe Canoe Club

Ribble Canoe Club

Do we have to bring our own gear?
No we can provide everything you need, except swimgear or suitable base layer clothes ie layers to keep you warm.

PLEASE DO NOT WEAR - cotton, denim and hoodies, as these absorb and retain water so you get cold quickly. Also bulky trainers as this will limit your kayak access, and may restrict in case of needing to exit the boat quickly

In the pool just bring along swimming gear (oh and a towel! - you will get wet!).

Does it cost to hire the Equipment?

Use of our equipment on standard club sessions is included in your fee.

Taster/Welcome sessions are chargeable at our standard non member rate

Please see our fees page

Do you have age limits?

There is no upper age limit, but unfortunately we dont allow under 8's to participate, as sole paddlers.

I haven't paddled before does this matter?

No our coaches will help you, and provide full instruction.

Please, however, contact us in advance to let us know you plan to have a go, just to make sure we have sufficient coaches available

Do I have to be a member?

No you don't need to be a member to come along.

We will ask you to become a temporary member just so we have appropriate contact and medical details, and so you acknowledge that there are some risks involved.

Please let us know if you plan to join us.
