OUR HISTORY

 

Pendle Paddlers were formed in 1997 by a group of canoeists and kayakers who used to meet at Burnley Canoe Centre.  When the local council stopped the funding, we set up our own club.

During the summer months (May - Aug) we hold weekly club nights on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal at Foulridge Wharf. With over 100 members in the club we cater for a mix of people with different kayaking and canoeing skills.  From age 8 onwards, we have a range of kayaks to suit all sizes from small youth to adult and we have a number of canoes to broaden your skills.  We run both Kayak and Canoe sessions so please check the events calendar for details.

In winter (Sept - April) we move to Wavelengths in Nelson to continue our club sessions

Our team of qualified coaches teach not only our regular members, but also local youth groups and community organisations for which we run fun and training sessions.

If you are an existing paddler or are new to paddling you will be made welcome.
