Pendle Paddlers

2019 A Year of Adventures

The Pendle Paddlers had a great year in 2019, here are some brief highlights.

Our White Water Kayakers have paddled the River Lune, Kent, Leven, Dee (many a times), Wharfe, Tryweryn, Washburn plus the Tees Barrage and others I am sure. We have formed a great relationship with the Cumbria Canoeist giving us more White Water river running opportunities.

We have had Family paddles through the mile long tunnel at Foulridge, explored along the Leeds Liverpool Canal, had a tidal adventure on the River Lune, experienced the dizzy heights and strong winds crossing the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct on the Llangollen Canal, paddled the Great Lakes (ok not the North American ones - but Windermere and Coniston!)

We have had a number of Family Camps around the Lakes visiting Windermere, Coniston, Ullswater and Derwentwater.

Our Canoeists have experienced the wilds of Scotland's lochs and wild camping, and the lakes.

We have increased our fleet of boats with new Canoes, and some play boats, we have had working parties looking after the Club house, equipment and learning how to outfit Canoes.

Our regular Club nights on the Canal and in the pool have continued to be very busy and we having been working on different skills recently in the pool. We have had Taster/Start sessions awarded the British Canoe Start Award and welcomed New Members.

We cant do this with our the great support of our Coaches, Leaders, Committee and other volunteers so a big thank you to all those people.

Finally a big thank you to all out members, supporters and friends who help make our Paddling Adventures.

Look forward to making 2020 even better.
