2021 The Return to Paddling
Well the start of the year was a non event really, use of the pool wasn't possible and the grass grew at the clubhouse
Paddling was limited to small bubbles / family groups.
Those who managed to make it on to the water at Foulridge found the swan pleased to see them.
The Committee continued to make plans to return to paddling when the time was right.
Working on Covid Risk assessments, online bookings and taking credit card payments all via the Website, keeping everyone Covid secure. Mailing lists for those interested in joining us
JULY The Return
In July we returned to paddling at Foulridge, sessions were very popular to point we had to run sessions on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, thanks to the coaches and helpers that made that possible.
Around 150 people joined us on Taster sessions, 85 member paddles on a Wednesday, we ended the season late September with some Saturday paddles, including a trip though the Foulridge Tunnel
If you want to see some of our Foulridge fun watch our video
In October we moved into Pendle Wavelengths for our pool sessions with a mixture of members nights, 3 weekly sessions for new members, and taster sessions - most sessions were fully booked with over a 100 bookings during time up to December.
Pool sessions taking the opportunity to get people used to getting wet, with safe exits, improving their boats movement (edging and trim) in some cases their roll
Again want to know what happens in the pool see our little video
It wasnt all about the pool and Foulridge canal, with our more advanced paddlers getting out and about we
Had White water trips
There was white water rescue training on the Lune
The Open Boat gang visited the lakes and Scotland
And our Sea Kayakers got busy exploring around Anglesey.
So in the end a slow start but a good 2021, we return to the pool mid Jan.
